Founder, Thread Together
Passionate about giving dignity to the community’s most vulnerable and marginalized, Andie Halas established Thread Together in 2012. Formerly of Seafolly, and with her background in fashion and marketing Andie has a deep understanding of the clothing manufacturing world. She saw there was an opportunity for companies that have too much to give to people that have too little.
Andie developed the model where fashion partners donate their end-of-line stock. At Thread Together the clothes are sorted for purpose. Through partnerships with charities and Thread Together Clothing Hubs, clothes are redistributed to people in need in our community.
From Andie’s simple idea to create a pipeline, the organisation now supports more than 100 charity partners including homeless shelters, women’s and men’s crisis centres, indigenous communities, long-term unemployed and Asylum Seekers. As a result, Thread together is well on its way of achieving its goal of helping 100,000 people every year.
