WHO IS SRF FOR?

SRF is suited to any fashion brand with the desire to grow, connect and share. SRF is a great opportunity for both emerging and established brands to promote brand awareness, meet buyers face-to-face, launch new collections to real time feedback, meet and network with like-minded brands and offer existing clients an opportunity to reconnect.

WHY SHOULD I EXHIBIT?

It is so important to continue to upskill and grow. Competing on price is not a viable strategy in today’s market. However, selling a story customers buy into, offering customers a brand they can connect with, having superior quality and exclusive design are ways through which you can compete and grow.

Live trade shows provide you the opportunity to truly talk to and connect with your customers and seek honest answers from them.

WHY THE RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS ARE KEY

SRF gives you the opportunity to have face to face time with fashion buyers and see what they can offer you. Their local market knowledge, existing customer loyalty, product selection, service in-store or online is going to be intrinsically linked to your brand.

Therefore as a designer you want to be aligning yourself with the right boutiques and retailers. Customers are becoming increasingly more selective, and look for value in every part of the buying process.

WHO IS SRF NOT FOR?

SRF is an amazing educational opportunity for any brand. However, we receive consistent feedback from buyers attending that we believe is beneficial to highlight to all our potential exhibitors.

As Head Buyer of Husk Peri Ridge mentioned in our Feb 2019 seminar, the first thing she often looks at when a brand reaches out to her is their Instagram.

Buyers invest in you, in the same way you invest in them. They need to see how committed you are to your brand. And that you have existing marketing strategies in place. This is particularly important for emerging designers, as well as brands who want to reach out to new or international markets. Keeping the buyer and customer excited is paramount to consistent sales. This can be done through stunning visual content and a strong brand narrative.

WHAT UNEXPECTED THINGS WILL I LEARN AT SRF?

Our seminar series with Key Industry leaders are free and the highlight of our shows. They are raw, honest and inspiring discussions on issues relating to you. We curate a panel of speakers who keep their speaking engagements limited, so SRF presents a great opportunity to hear them speak.

There will be a seminar series specifically for exhibitors only, on bump-in day.

It is really valuable to ask other business owners for their advice and also share yours with them. You also need to do a lot of homework to land a big new accounts and be prepared to take risks.

WHAT SHOULD MY STAND LOOK LIKE?

You want guests to visit your stand and know what your brand is all about – which means having a strong, consistent aesthetic and colour palette, that’s on-brand and instantly communicates your businesses’ personality!

WHAT SERVICES ARE INCLUDED?

WHO CAN EXHIBIT?

Emerging and Established brands, both Australian and international. Our exhibitor categories include Women’s Apparel, Mens Apparel, Swim, Resort, Active, Intimates, Sleep, Street, Kids, Sustainability, Footwear, Jewllery, Accessories, Gifts, Technology, Services and Manufacturing.

DO I HAVE TO BE AN AUSTRALIAN BRAND/ RESIDENT?

No, we have a range of international brands that consistently exhibit in our events that participate to connect with Au fashion buyers.

WHAT IF I REPRESENT MULTIPLE BRANDS?

Sales and Brand agents are welcome to exhibit multiple brands in the one stand. We do have some signage restrictions when multiple brands are exhibited.

DOES SRF FIT IN MY BUDGET?

One of the smartest things a business owner can do is spend money on the right things. The things that will grow your business. But, before deciding to participate you should take the time to review your budget.

These are some additional expenses that you need to factor in, and if necessary, start planning as soon as possible.

  • Product samples: being able to provide a sample per size per colour.
  • Stall design and customisation (we recommend a back wall graphic or image. Listed preferred suppliers can design/print and install for $59 per square metre).
  • Train/air/hotel fare– if you are coming from interstate.
  • Transportation– getting to the event within Sydney.
  • Business materials – having a small selection of printed materials including business cards, lookbooks, line sheets, and postcards are all good options.

Having said that, take a look at what else is going on in Sydney that you could factor into your trip to make the overall commitment worthwhile.

  • Have you been eager to say thank you to your existing customer base? You can invite them to your stall and offer them exclusive deals for the festival.
  • It is sourcing season, there will be other events and meetups you can participate in.
  • Have you been networking with other designers via social media and email who will also be in the city and you could finally meet up with?
